A serious injury accident involving a U-Haul truck and a pedestrian occurred on July 4th, 2024, in the 1400 block of W Ridge Rd in Greece, New York. The Greece Police Department responded to the incident. The investigation revealed that an adult was crossing W Ridge Rd with multiple children at Stone Rd. Despite not using a crosswalk and crossing against the green light, westbound cars on W Ridge Rd slowed and stopped for them. As they reached the center median, a 7-year-old child ran into the eastbound lanes of W Ridge Rd and was struck by the U-Haul truck traveling in that direction with a green light.
