**Greece Police Use LPR Alert to Make Arrest for Criminal Possession of a Weapon**

On February 24, 2025, the Greece Police Department successfully apprehended a suspect following an alert from license plate recognition (LPR) technology. Officers responded to a notification regarding a wanted vehicle on West Ridge Road. Upon arrival, they swiftly set up a perimeter and located the vehicle.

During the investigation, authorities discovered that 22-year-old Jalen Hannah, a resident of Irondequoit, was in possession of a loaded handgun, which he was not licensed to carry. Hannah was subsequently charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree.

Following his arrest, Hannah was arraigned in Greece Town Court and remanded to the county jail. His bail options were set as follows:

- $6,000 cash

- $12,000 insured bond

- $40,000 partially insured bond

The Greece Police Department credited the LPR technology’s quick alert and the cohesive effort of responding officers for ensuring a safe and successful resolution. This coordinated response highlights the department's effective use of technology and teamwork in addressing public safety concerns.
