Arrest Made in Domestic Assault Case in Greece

**Arrest Made Following Domestic Assault on Grecian Gardens Drive**

On the morning of February 26, 2025, police in Greece, New York, responded to an emergency call regarding a violent domestic incident on Grecian Gardens Drive. The report was made by a third party who stated that a woman was being attacked inside the residence.

When officers arrived at the scene at approximately 6:16 AM, they encountered 63-year-old Carl L. Rau, who had blood on his hands. Inside the home, they found a female victim suffering from severe head injuries. She was promptly transported to Strong Memorial Hospital, where she required surgery for her injuries. Despite the severity, her injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

Investigators established that Rau used multiple objects during the assault. He was arrested without resistance and subsequently charged with Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and Assault in the First Degree.

The Greece Police Criminal Investigation Division is actively working on the case as Rau remains in custody awaiting arraignment.
