The Hobart hockey team was welcomed by the Hobart and William Smith Colleges and the Geneva community after winning their third consecutive NCAA Division III National Championship. The celebration took place at the Scandling Campus Center in Geneva, New York, and included a police and firetruck escort from the New York Thruway to the campus. Youth hockey players lined up to receive autographs from team members. President Mark D. Gearan offered congratulatory remarks during the event, and Head Coach Mark Taylor announced that the trophy for this year is named Love.
