Nancy Gibbs Chosen for 2025 Commencement Address
Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, NY, announced that Nancy Gibbs, former Editor in Chief of TIME magazine, presidential historian, and Harvard professor, will deliver the 2025 Commencement address. Gibbs will also receive the Elizabeth Blackwell Award during the ceremony.
The college will present five honorary degrees to community changemakers. Recipients include Patrisha Blue ’77, director of the Martin Luther King Memorial Choir and a Geneva community leader; Geoffrey Herd, a world-renowned musician and founder of the Geneva Music Festival; Mary Jane M. Poole P'91, a longtime supporter of the college; and Stephen Wyckoff and Janet Wyckoff, philanthropists with a focus on supporting Geneva’s children.
